i run the world from city hall

what started as a fairly average friday night, turned into an amazing experience. i was getting zooted at a party in mission hill when my friend jeff and his friend ryan told me they are leaving to go climb buildings and sleep in an abandoned mental institute. wild. "i'm in."

i apologize in advance for my camera phone pics, but it's all i had and i promise i will post some of jeff and ryan's shots when i get them.

not only was i under-dressed for the occasion (sperry top-siders) but i was still a little crazed from the nights prior activities. after running from a random beezie on the streets of mission hill he hit up some spots around back bay until we found a building across from the common to climb. yes climb. it was around midnight and the weather was perfect.

we walked around a little more afterwards bumping into the wasted lives lived by the boston nightlife. we had a pretty cool conversation about the sad existence of young people working their 9-5's just so they could party on the weekends as if they had no taste for adventure or real excitement. by now i had sobered up and realized i could do more with my life than fall into the trap. i'm cleaning up and getting my body back into shape.

time for taunton. ever hear of lizzie borden? yeah she was commited there. we got there around 3 or 4 in the morning. once we hopped a fence to get in we creeped through a window and made our way to our little camp inside the building where we enjoyed a good nights sleep. there was water dripping from the ceiling that kept me awake for a little bit, it sounded like the goddess bunny and it wasn't the best thing in the world to calm my nerves. i woke up a little before jeff and ryan and found a box of patient records. i scanned through them and read some crazy things like a suicidal grandmother from the 1930's. once everyone was awake we started to explore..

not only am i going to be taking more of these trips, but i'm going to be buying a video camera to document them. i'm so pumped on life right now.

what better way to end the day then hitting the beach and enjoying a concert with all your best friends? chris albert, a rocket to the moon, and feels like july killed it. you missed out. welcome home nick!
