Dear Ryan Thomas Bambery,
I'm done feeling sorry for you, making you miserable, dwelling on any glimpse of the past, half-stepping, envying the successful, sleeping in late, procrastinating, and coming up short. I'm not promising any more big things from you, but I have endless faith. I can't make any promises. Life is too short for that madness.
Listen to Shoot Me Down by Lil Wayne. Dude is saying what he wants to say, how he wants to say it. You listen to his words and you're bobbing your head, maybe even reciting word for word if you know what's really good like my boy Chris Albert; notice something? You're vibing... Feeling good about what he has to say. Not a Wayne fan? That's fine, just respect the fact that he came from nothing, a human being like yourself, and he's doing what he loves doing and he does it well. Peep the producer credits... Kanye West. Why is he so big? All eyes on them, you've heard both of those names. Think about it. The world is yours, do something with it.
Infinitely you,
Ryan Thomas Bambery

In My Room
I've been home for over 2 weeks now, the longest I've been home since I left for tour in August. I could lie and say I've been incredibly productive, but instead I'll be honest with myself and say I've been staying out late at night and sleeping until late in the afternoon. It's been amazing to catch up with all of my hometown friends and there are plenty more to see.
I'd like to thank Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys for being my all-time favorite band. My uncle got me into them at a young age and my love for them has only grown since. This song has always been one of my favorites, and fitting for this post. I've always spent a lot of time in my room, it's where I do my best thinking (aside from the shower.)
Alone time is healthy for the mind, cherish it.

I haven't ruled out Arizona for New Years. If I can get my motorcycle and get it running in ship-shape a few days after Christmas, I'm going to load up a backpack and a bad-roll and go on a road trip. Here's the bike I'm getting from my friend Andrew; It's a 74 Honda...
That would be an experience, considering I have never ridden an actual motorcycle before in my life. I love the idea of being alone on the open road though. If it's not ready for New Years, I'm not going to sweat it. I'm home until March, there is plenty of time for road trips. I feel like going by myself would be the most exciting element to the trip.
Adventure is always on my mind, especially considering I've been spending so much time cooped up in my room thanks to this brutal snow and sheer laziness. I've been cleaning it for over a week now and seem to be getting nowhere. Whenever I get a good momentum going, I'll find old artwork or writing that I've saved since middle school. I'm a recovering pack rat so keeping a clean room was always an issue for me. I've never thrown out so much of my stuff in my life.
Alone time is healthy for the mind, cherish it.

Show & Tell: 3 Months Strong
I get asked constantly what made me cut animals out of my diet. Take a few minutes out of your busy lives to watch these 2 videos. Sorry if I ruin your appetite, but I like to think you would want to know what is going in your body. Ignorance can be a scary thing when it gets out of hand.
Watch more videos at PETA.org
"Nobody can come up with a good argument for eating animals—nobody can. People as some kind of a joke say, well, "It’s tasty," but it’s only tasty once you garnish it and you put salt and pepper and you cook it and you have to do 300 things to it to disguise its true taste. If you put garnishes on a chair or fabric it would probably taste quite nice." -Morrissey

If you aren't phased by this, that is perfectly fine. I just want people to see how wrong it is.
Tomorrow marks my 3rd month of being vegan. I'm going to treat myself to vegan chicken patties and a tall glass of chocolate soy milk.
I owe my health and happiness to everybody that has helped me out along the way.

A Declaration Of Nomad
Friends! Enemies! Big and small! Seduce me with your IDEAS, CHALLENGES, BUSINESS VENTURES, SKETCHY SITUATIONS, PARTYS NEEDING A DJ, PHILOSOPHIES, and overall NEW EXPERIENCES.
I decided I don’t want to work a job ever again. If you love what you do, you aren’t working, you’re just doing what you like to do. Be real with yourself, if you hate your job, quit and try to take an adventure. Life is too short to make a promise, but here is my promise to go global, with projections of universal (credit Patrick Ahern.) I’m going to be a guerrilla lemonade stand, a beer brewer, a writer, a Dazzler, a rude boy, a joker, a smoker, a vegan restaurant owner, a brand developer, an interior decorator, a fashion designer, a film maker, a shinny hockey player, a gypsy, a gambler, a whiffle baller, a tea drinker, a bike rider, a music video director, a DJ, a motorcycle, VW, ratrod, WASTERS, and Ed Roth enthusiast, a listener of fine music, a pirate, a painter, a connoiseur, an entrepreneur, a Real Deal Holyfield version of Max Fischer.

Hot Wings, Cold Beer, Good Times
Here’s to the newly instated Code Of The South, gents. Slightly stale from Myrtle Beach (they call it “North Myrtle Beach” but I ain’t a sucker.) The accents are thick, and when left from a fair belle’s lips, usually makes me melt. What can I say? I really like it down here. It’s a different country, powerful different. Enough about the dirty ‘ol South, and more about; why you are here, me. Chill, this is what it is...
To take stock in the utmost of honesty, I’d much rather be drawing and designing right now, or working on that killer screenplay I may never start, but that is where my dreams are, and this keyboard and word processor; reminiscent of last minute meaningless school essays, are what my head’s on. So get this stroke of gentle genius, I’m going to use this blog as an autobiography in motion. This is what a blog is for, right? I’m not always right, but I’m never wrong. I’m actually a lefty, and on top of that, my grammar is terrible; however, it is my grammar. If anything, I’m giving you a break. Expect the bottom of my heart in every one of my run-on, broken, and ‘oddly worded’ sentences. Maybe something bigger could come from this? “We can only hope for an Indian Summer” As Chris Mojan of Fireworks fame would say, “the crops depend on it.”
I’ve been on a straight spree of listening to strong-voiced females with soul for days. I think it’s my natural instincts reminding me that Summer’s over, Fall flew by, and Old Man Winter is crashing the party and maybe it is about time to find a queen to cozy up to. Unfortunately, I have expensive taste and animated wolf eyes before I remember I’m the king of a castle nobody else wanted. I had to flip the game plan and strengthen my hems. I have no idea what “hems” are or even how I could go about making them stronger, but I heard Donovan Strain talking about them on Buteryass Mondays, and that shit is hysterically genius. Don’t sleep, you might learn something. Pardon the tangent, my mind is back on Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, The Cardigans, and most recently Amy Wineouse (David Ruffin, James Brown, and George Clinton had a hell of a problem too!). Buy Lauryn Hill’s Unplugged and hear it. Don’t just listen to it, hear it.

Let me paint a picture for you, you like paintings, right? I’m the purveyor of perpetual personality. It’s nothing more than spectating, for sport; however, by no means, a spectator’s sport. Master procrastinators of the world, REJOICE! I got a leg up on the rest of the herd. Catch my waft? Pardon any distinct hint of ego, over-confidence, elitism, and/or most tragically of course, hubris. I’m the prick you secretly hated all through the glory years of high school, I was the deeper-thinker and brave enough to explore and navigate my sensitive side through “outcast; yet, applauded-when-done-well mediums” like the arts, that still made the team. I travelled with different flocks that were few and equally awkward; however we had soul, and the unnecessary know-how to say “fuck that” in the first place. Everyone is an enemy when suburban teen boys first listen to punk rock. It’s clearly stated in the unstated bylaws of punk rock lyricism. This has no negative intentions, but plenty of Bad Brains because I got that PMA (Google it.) This is simply a round-a-bout synopsis of where I’m at, with a possible foreshadowing forecast of where I’d like to be.
I’ve learned so much about myself by sub-consciously studying others in my surroundings. I think about and practice it constantly on a more outward level and feel as if I’ve been granted a gift of excellent perception and; therefore, judgement. Once one begins to become comfortable in their flesh and; ideally, their mind in tune with their body, it is not uncommon for such a fortunate soul to experience day-to-day life with a sensationally natural out-of-body high. We as people are direct products of our surroundings. Life is made up of vibes and rhythms traded through interaction. Those that become really comfortable with interaction get to be good enough to skip a few steps in getting to know someone. By knowing themselves, first. “Will I like this person?” First impressions are comprised of vibrations. Those underprivileged with a weak mind, only get the kind that The Beach Boys sang about on Pet Sounds. That’s why your girl has shit friends. Now those that are in tune and got soul for days, can pick up on a bad vibe within the first 5-10 minutes of acknowledging another being’s existence. I apologize if I forgot your name, my mind sweeps it away as if it’s an unnecessary detail or character front. Give me a reason to remember it and I can almost promise you I will never forget it again. Life is too short, with too many variables in it to make promises. This is a good thing, yeah?
Do I dare expose every bit of knowledge I’ve been acquiring about life and my life since my born day, or bottle my “floating outside of the box” ideas and philosophies on life like a quaint secret? A magician never reveals his tricks; though, I don’t fancy myself one because I could always guess your card, but I could never keep that damn rabbit in my hat! Get it?
MF DOOM wrote about art and life on an inhale/exhale level in the latest Wax Poetic. I’m on the “inhale” as I’m taking in life and inspiration to “exhale” and spit back my two cents to the rest of the world. DOOM’s a beast. I’m trying to be on that level, and then some... I get greedy, you don’t? Exactly. I want to make films, art, music, and you a mix-tape with an absurd theme.
Whenever you’re in the dumpies just remember, love your life, the rest comes easy.

Started Up Huustlin...
Ricky just texted me; apparently, the Boston date of our upcoming tour with Secondhand Serenade and Cute Is What We Aim For has sold out. This tour is going to be jam-packed with new experiences and I'm super excited... and yes, a lil' nervous. Thanks for the good news Ricky and thanks for a ridiculous night at my Provi homecoming. The Provi-squad was in full effect and shit got noodles... quick.
The crew we have now on the road is meshing very well, Shane Haase joins us November 3, and what a day it will be. Shane is like a big brother I never had the chance to really get to know so him coming out is huge for me. Morale is high!!!
Meet our new Tour Manager, Shane Fucking Haase.
This last tour was nothing special for our wallets or egos; however, I gained a lot of friends and because of that, I'm so glad we took it. The Lives of Famous Men, The Urgency, and A Cursive Memory are going to be missed for sure, and of course Brighten it was great to tour with them again. It was hard to say goodbye to Auggie, Tyler, and Toad because I never meshed better with any group of dudes I met on the road. Good times are ahead of us though when I trek North to their little planet they call "Vermont." Stay up brothers!
I haven't eaten meat since the 18th, I haven't eaten animals products of any kind since the 20th. This makes me 10 days vegan and I'm going strong. thanks to anybody that has supported me because while I find it extremely challenging (see how much of your favorite snacks contain animal) I consider it worth it. I feel better than I ever have really, and it's nice to not feel disgusting after each meal. Shane is also vegan so it'll make this next tour a little easier to have a teammate. I'm trying not to fall in the slump of salad and french fries at every restaurant, but it's going to take some creativity. IF YOU PLAN ON COMING TO ONE OF OUR DATES BRING ME THINGS TO EAT!!!
Ended Up Bawlin'

I keep losing my appetite.
Have you ever been in the situation when all the people you surround yourself with come back from a great adventure without you with wide eyes and plenty of "had to be there" stories; and then they ask you, "Where were you, man?" Life is a rough gig when the people that are supposed to have your back to begin with leave you walking on a tight rope. Such is my life. I came into this new way of living life with nothing but high hopes and a slim wallet and I'm leaving with less than that. Thnks 4 the mmrs?

Do You Know The Importance Of A Sky Pager?
Hi fiends.
Remember me?
Tour has been taxing to say the least. I've only been out since August but it feels like i never left the road in June. I won't be "home" until December and that seems light years away.
I need a vacation.
I'm not tour managing Rocket anymore which I was uneasy about at first but it is giving me more free time to take everything in and relax. I have a lot of ideas brewing on the back burner that might be coming to fruition in the next few months now that I don't have to worry about babysitting my best friends for little to no pay. I'm making the best of what started out as a sticky situation. It's not like I'm taking a pay cut or anything. If you come to a show, make sure you come kick it with me at the merch table. Bring me Gushers, Limeade, Dr Pepper, and other treats.
I have meet some truly incredible people and I could name them all off but it would just make me miss everybody more. I might do a photo update if i can figure out how to get my iphone pics on my computer without emailing them all. Halvo wants me to make a tumblr account so that is another option.
This is Kerri. She kind of sucks and always smells and made me write about her on this. She tries to sell merch for A Cursive Memory but is sooooo bad at it. Ehh, at least she has a sweet Integrity tattoo?
Do you know what I love the most?

Patsy Cline- San Antonio Rose
...One of the many songs I was raised on. I like this place. It's hot but it's Texas. I feel like I understand Chris a little more.
I met a wolf yesterday across the street from the Alamo, his name was Casey. When I was petting and introducing myself to Casey, I told his friends (owners) "funny, I was raised by these things." I need to look into getting myself one. I'd be like Kevin Costner. I always enjoyed his movies for some reason.
... stoked.
Tour has been tour. I have a feeling that if it wasn't for the bird man game, we would have killed each other by now. Hey Monday rolled up last night, great kids! I'm really pumped that we get to tour with them because they are all super chill.
I miss Ricky

An excerpt from Saul Williams' latest Myspace bulletin
"Without question, we are living in powerful times, a time where the powers of being will truly prevail over the powers that be. This is evident in the political sector where it has become clear, at least to me, that my support of Barack Obama is not because he’s black, but because he seems to represent both symbolically and ideologically many of those ideas and ideals whose time has come. Ideas of the divine need for change (“God’s just a baby and her diaper is wet.” Get it?) in how we look at the world, ourselves, and at our individual and communal powers. The idea that might is right, that we demonstrate our power with aggressive force is great for football teams, but hardly the best idea for a country whose running source of pride has historically been the evidence of our collective imagination: our music; our films; our amusement parks; and the technology we create to share it. These products of peace are the things that made the world initially fall in love with us. We have rooted ourselves in a growing sense of independence as evidenced through our historic social movements, always upgrading our beliefs and laws to reflect our broadening understanding and vision. Of course, many, if not most, would label this a very optimistic perspective of the ongoing struggle for justice and equal opportunity for all people in this land. There is still a fight to have our voices heard and many of us when given the opportunity to speak seem to have very little to say. Then are those who have consistently fought against growth and change, who would rather fight for their right to maintain their antiquated, sometimes ignorant points of view, as if the age of the perspectives themselves is what validates them. Yet, the first technology is of the mind. It is the shift in perspective that allows us to streamline possibilities of understanding as reflected through invention. And quite simply, we are coming of age.
In this age it is our responsibility to challenge ourselves beyond cultural traditions and delineate between what we have perpetuated through ignorance rather than wisdom. We face an opportunity to broaden our worldview through the exchange of technology and information. We need not rely on what teachings of the past could not anticipate. It is an opportunity to forge ahead and beyond the wavering shortsightedness of our religious leaders, elected officials, teachers, principals, and sometimes parents and live in simple accordance with what we can feel deep within ourselves. We should no longer be surprised to sometimes find ourselves seemingly more intelligent, informed, or insightful than our leaders and bosses, rather we should feel encouraged to inspire and share our most informed selves in our every encounter. And that, my friends, is what has led me to write you today."

things have changed for me...
...and that's ok!
Panic At The Disco have proven themselves to me with this CD...
I have a new respect for this band, not to mention their current live show is phenomenal!
Feels Like July is home and I'm pumped because I missed them dearly. I'm looking forward to tour stories from the boys later on tonight. Their CD is climbing the Smartpunk.com charts and breached the Top 100! The best part is, it's only a pre-sale!
John Mayer has a blog on a Japanese streetwear site called Honeyee.com. It is probably my favorite blog of all time, and the reason I have a little fan boy crush on him. He is the man, see for yourself. http://blog.honeyee.com/john
That very blog is where I found these little gems we like to call Buseyisms...

"hey you wanna make $14 the hard way?"
Rodney Dangerfield was the king of the one-liner for a reason. I might compile some of my favorite scenes from sports comedies, but that would be a gigantic post and I don't think the server could handle it.
I want all of my friends to come home from wherever they are because I've been awfully bored lately. I would kill to be in England with Nick and Ryan! On a lighter note, tour is right around the corner and the idea of living in a van with Nick, Albert, Halvo, and Loren is extremely exciting. Lots of adventure and shenanigans, I really can't wait.

Straight, No Chaser
Today is a Thelonious Monk day for me. it's beautiful out, my office door is open and I'm recovering from an eventfully awkward weekend with a bottle of apple juice. 100%, none of that concentrate.
I'll never forget the old clarinet player who used to stoop up behind my dorm in Providence and play his heart out. He was never any good, he just wanted to play for people. Now granted, his audience was the drunken student body on their way to and from the routine club scene carefully placed two streets away from our residence; it didn't matter to him, he just wanted to be heard. I often sat on the curb next to him to hear him play.. mostly improvisations, sometimes clips of real songs.. it didn't matter to him. One night on my way back from a shitty night with shitty people I asked him to play some Monk. Sure enough, he breaks into "Round Midnight," my favorite. It might've been the booze but it sounded perfect to me. He wasn't homeless despite common misconception, nor would he accept any money for fulfilling my request; I think he was just happy I was there. I sincerely hope he is still playing every night.
It's funny to think about now as I type this but I was never into jazz until Hey Arnold aired on Nickelodeon. I always said I wish I had a friend like Gerald... the dude had soul.
Britton and I are talking about creating a new agency.. still smoothing out details and what not, but i have a lot of faith in this project. I'd like to bring back my old graf name for this one... who knows what will come of it? here is a little sample of some possible identity work...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK SANTINO!!!

I sincerely hope he is still playing every night.

i need a suga momma
so i mentioned a Morrissey shirt i wanted on my birthday that i saw on Tony from the Hundreds' photo blog... well it turns out that it is a Hundreds tee, but a piece from the Rosewood Collection... as in you have to go to their Rosewood location to get it. who in Cali wants to get me one? i have paypal!
here is a much better picture...
i saw these on High Snobiety today and my jaw dropped. i've been "out" of the sneaker collecting game for a bit, but these are a completely different story. I NEED.
Junya Watanabe is by far my favorite designer of today. if i had the money, i'd be decked out in nothing but Comme Des Garçons. word on the streets is that Comme Des Garçons is going to be co-designing the H&M mens fall line. perfect for all of us has-beens and never-was's who are currently ballin' on a budget.
here are my favorites from Watanabe's upcoming Fall '08 line
i'm extremely influenced by fashion. a lot of my ideas and designs are what Watanabe is putting into fruition now. i'd love to meet him and gain some insight.
i should really start drawing and sewing more.

i've come to wish you an unhappy birthday...
thanks for all the kind birthday wishes. i am 20 today... so odd.
these are my sidearms...
i've been on a moz kick for the last few months. he is excellent.
if you follow tony from the hundreds' photo blog you will know what i am talking about, but apparently him and his friends (?) are making morrissey shirts?? here is the best pic i could find of it...
i know it says "i would go out tonight, but i haven't got a stitch to wear." well needless to say, i rock a size small and would kill for this shirt. if you know anything about, hook a fool up!
tune in tomorow for the legend of Quentin Cain!!

FRIDAY:
i spent the day in new hampshire where chris albert & the affective collective played a 4th festival. aside from the venue, albert and the boys did exceptional.
once i got back to taxachusetts, i hit up the city to catch the fireworks at the esplinade. i was never blown away by a fireworks display until i saw this one. they had these fireworks that looked like god covered the sky in gold glitter... nothing gold can stay!!!
headed back to the loop to meet up with the squad for the night's raging. stunnaman from the pack was in town with his boy johnny, repping ther line EZ. they rolled out with us to a party on mass ave. a few stoops away from the party, stunna and colby got in some wild beef with a crew of natives. the dudes were talking tough and flashing guns, cops everywhere, but then one of them says "oh shit, ain't you stunna from the pack?" beef squashed.
the party was ill! lots of good people and vibes. we had sing-alongs to the smiths, integrity, daft punk, mgmt, you name it. yeah it was confusingly epic.
dexter has a sweet daft punk tattoo that rickstaaa shit himself over...
SATURDAY:
more raging and good times with the loop crew. said my goodbyes to stunna and johnny, hopefully i'll be running into them again soon.
SUNDAY:
spent the day with hometown friends and good old-fashioned bbq! perfect summer day/night. got to spend the day with nick who i'm not going to see until august when we leave for tour. bummer. he is in nyc shooting his interview and performance for TRL thats going to be aired on thursday. watch it!!!!!!!! nick is doing bigger things than anybody else i know.. you'll be hearing more and more about these things very soon.
that was a hoot!

hear ye, hear ye!
i've been so frustrated since i was old enough to think globally about the state of america. i feel like every other country is just looking at us and shaking their heads in shame. i could go on and blame the bush administration for all of this, but it would be unfair, considering we the people are the reason he has the job he does. he is a fuck-up, that is obvious. what will it take for america to wake the fuck up and realize that the rest of the world doesn't need to be policed by us when we can't even police ourselves?
i was reading the rolling stone interview with chris martin of coldplay and he mentioned his thoughts of having a global election for the us president. imagine every member of the world casting their vote on who they think should run our country? it should not be something to imagine, it should be common practice. i know that outside opinion affects my day-to-day life strongly and anybody would be lying if they said it didn't. america is so bad at taking criticism that instead of taking it to positively change, we outcast the country and deploy troops.
i stopped reading newspapers and watching american news, instead i listen to the BBC media player, because i want real news, not which hollywood celebrity is getting botox. i need to start travelling abroad and see the rest of this world. i'm always so intrigued by meeting people from other countries and i'm never shy to ask their opinion of our nation and i can not help but to agree with how ignorant we are.
restore diplomacy. clean up our image. it isn't too late. think globally. UNITE! forget the past, lets just make a change, it has to start from within.
this is sounding the alarm,
bam
i sincerely believe that obama as a president will be a big step in cleaning up our image and diplomacy.
